FAQs

Everything people ask us before their first turban. If your question isn't here, get in touch and we'll answer it.

How do I put on a pre-tied turban?

Every Intti turban arrives pre-tied. Hold it by the back seam, place it over your forehead just above the brow line, then slide it back over your head and tuck any loose hair underneath. It takes about ten seconds, with no wrapping, folding or pinning required. There's a step-by-step version in our ten-second guide.

Will a satin turban damage or dry out my hair?

No. Satin has a much smoother surface than cotton, so it creates less friction against the hair shaft. That means fewer split ends, less frizz and less moisture drawn out of the hair, which is why satin is widely recommended for curly, coily, fine and chemically treated hair. We explain the difference between satin, silk and cotton in this guide.

Are Intti turbans suitable for hair loss, alopecia or chemotherapy?

Yes. Our turbans give full coverage with a soft, seam-light interior and no scratchy labels, which makes them comfortable on a sensitive scalp. They are designed as everyday fashion pieces rather than medical headwear, so they look like a styling choice rather than a cover-up. If you're choosing your first piece during treatment, our guide to headwear for hair loss covers what to look for.

Will it stay on without slipping?

The band is cut from stretch fabric and most styles include an adjustable tie at the back, so you can tighten it to your head size. Worn correctly it stays put through a full day, including wind and public transport. If it moves, the back edge usually hasn't come down far enough at the nape.

What does "reversible" mean?

Most of our turbans have a different colour or fabric on each side. Turn the piece inside out from the base, reshape the knot or bow with your fingers, and you have a second look from the same item. Styles with an interchangeable bow go further still: swapping the bow changes the character of the piece entirely.

How do I wash my turban?

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, press out the water without wringing, reshape and dry flat away from direct heat. Velvet styles should be steamed rather than ironed, as ironing flattens the pile permanently. Full instructions are in our care guide.

Is one size really one size?

For stretch-band styles, yes, within a normal range. Adjustable-tie styles cover a wider range because you set the tension yourself, which also makes them the better choice if your head size is changing, for example during hair regrowth.

Can I return something?

Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to tell us you'd like to return an item, and a further 14 days to send it back. Email huda@intti.co.uk with your order number to start a return.

Who pays for return postage?

If you've simply changed your mind, you cover the cost of posting the item back — we recommend a tracked service. If an item arrives faulty, damaged or isn't what you ordered, we cover the return cost and refund your original delivery charge. Full details on our returns page.

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes, we ship throughout the United Kingdom. Delivery options, costs and estimated timings are shown at the basket and again at checkout before you pay.

Can I wear one with long hair?

Yes. Gather your hair into a low bun or plait at the nape first, then bring the back of the turban down over it. The slight fullness at the back is part of the shape, not a problem to hide.
